The fund

Renewable energy and climate infrastructure, Portugal-focused

One Planet focuses on renewable energy and climate infrastructure in Portugal. Consider how the strategy fits your portfolio, your family’s plans and the time you can keep capital invested.

For Golden Visa eligibility, the vehicle must be established under Portuguese law, be non-real-estate, have a maturity of at least five years at the time of investment and invest at least 60% of its portfolio in companies headquartered in Portugal.

Use the same criteria for every fund, including ours. Ask for the fund documents, manager credentials, fee schedule and portfolio reporting. Review liquidity, risks and exit terms with your advisors. A qualifying investment is not automatically a suitable investment.

Regulation

What regulation does—and does not—mean

Portuguese collective investment vehicles operate within a regulated framework overseen by the CMVM, but regulation does not guarantee capital preservation or returns.

Check which entity manages the fund and verify its regulatory registration. Ask what could affect your capital, what reporting you will receive and how the investment must be maintained for residency.

US investors

401(k), IRA and cross-border reporting

US citizens and resident aliens are generally subject to US tax and reporting rules on worldwide income and foreign financial assets, and some foreign fund structures may create specific US reporting or tax considerations.

Considering a 401(k) or IRA? Ask your plan administrator, custodian and US tax advisor about permitted investments, rollover rules and tax consequences. Suitability depends on your circumstances.
